Wednesday 27th July – bike **** – Around Felixstowe including lunch with ‘Emily’ – sunny periods.

Had a lay in this morning deciding to head out later on our bike for lunch, so with yummy egg sandwiches packed to leave home at 12.10 for Marah Lane leading to Kings Fleet. We were tempted to stop for lunch on one of the angling pontoons but there were several fishermen there so we continued onto Falkenham Church to enjoy the lovely Deben view, there seemed a good breeze inland but when I actually made it to Felixstowe seafront the onshore breeze was fairly light! The picnic was great even if a tad cool sitting in the shade from the big tree so we set off on the farm track eventually coming out at Kirton and most of the time our ride was very quiet with few people about:) Across the busy A 14 to Trimley and onto our favourite tree lined route back to Felixstowe surrounded by rolling wheat fields with some nice views down to the River Orwell near Levington:) We got our fish food ready to feed the rudd in the small pond but several dogs were enjoying a swim! Coming out at the back of Felixstowe docks Mag heads for home past Morrisons as I carry onto the dock view point to see what’s going on the Orwell! The beach was busy with several small container ships in port with the roll on roll off ferry just coming in too! Then back along the prom slowly as it was crowded and up the hill to home, sadly my chain is slipping badly now and I had to get off and walk, must get that sorted, a new chain and rear cogs are probably required?
There is a good breeze from the east forecast for tomorrow so might head over to the River Stour for a foil, will decide in the morning?
